Birth Story Part Two: Labor...

Edit: I have had this in my draft for 2 months now...whoops...I have a good reason though...but that's for another day =]
We arrived at the hospital a little after 6am and were taken into the monitoring room to see if I was having any real steady contractions. When I got to the hospital my contractions had started to lighten up a lot...my luck, I have consistent contractions for 12 hours straight and when I get there, they start to decrease. Well, I knew something was up, so I walked around for an hour, and I think the midwife checking me knew that I had that mother's intuition that he was coming, so she admitted me into labor and delivery that morning at 10:00am Even though I went in that morning at 2cm and progressed to only a 3 with walking.
They then took me to my birthing suite where I would stay until the baby was born.

This is how Mike spent the duration...Christmas shopping =] haha

The exams were out of this world painful. By 1200 I had progressed to a 5 and the mw wanted to progress the labor by breaking my water. But. I refused another exam until I got the epidural. I was handling the contractions, but the exams were too painful, I could not bear another one until the epidural fully kicked in. By 1230, the epi was administered and I was just waiting for it to kick in so the mw could break my water.
Shortly after, she came in and broke my water. For about 4 hours, the nurse came in and repositioned me every 30 minutes to keep the epidural flowing evenly. By about 4:45pm, I started to feel pain and pressure. I was checked and told I was at a 10 and ready to push...
